The MN ASHP Collaborative's white-labeled educational materials are available for you to utilize in your contractor training efforts. Our goal is to provide training materials and resources to enhance contractor confidence in ASHP sales and installation, resulting in more high-quality heat pump installation and satisfied homeowners. These educational materials have been used successfully in live trainings offered by the Minnesota ASHP Collaborative and further enhanced to make it easy for you to repurpose for your own trainings.
ASHP Comfort Advising Training
Length: Half-day including breaks
Format: In-person or virtual
Staff Needed: At least 1 trainer
Recommended Class Size: 20-50
Attendee Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of ASHP technology

Getting Started: The facilitator guide is the primary reference document to help you prepare for and deliver our ASHP Comfort Advising training. It includes the training delivery sequence, checklists of necessary materials and equipment, presentation content, and instructions for managing exercises.

Available Training Equipment Incentives
The Minnesota Residential Heat Pump Training Program provides funding to help HVAC distributors, trade schools, and other training organizations in Minnesota purchase or upgrade air source heat pump (ASHP) training equipment. The program is designed to support high-quality installation training and expand ASHP expertise across the state.
Step 1 – Pre-Approval (reserve your funds for 60 days)
Submit a brief application to CEE with:
- Organization & contact info
- Description of equipment and training use
- Estimated cost & installation/use timeline
- Photo of your current lab/training space
- Signed incentive agreement & W-9
Step 2 – Purchase & Install
Buy your approved equipment and set it up in your lab.
Step 3 – Payment Request
Submit:
- Receipts/invoices
- Photos of installed equipment
